The Baume & Mercier Riviera Chronograph – Ref. MOA08628 revives the distinctive design language of the Riviera collection, first introduced in 1973, combining sport-oriented functionality with refined Swiss watchmaking. The watch features a 43 mm stainless steel case characterized by the collection’s iconic twelve-sided bezel secured with four trapezoidal screws positioned at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock.

The dial adopts a bold panda-style configuration, pairing a white background with contrasting black chronograph sub-dials. Large black Roman numerals and rhodium-plated baton hour markers enhance legibility, while hands and markers filled with luminous material ensure visibility in low-light conditions. The chronograph layout includes a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, running seconds at 9 o’clock, and 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, with a date window positioned at 3 o’clock and a central chronograph seconds hand.

The case construction incorporates a screw-down crown, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and an exhibition caseback revealing the automatic movement. The watch is rated to 100 meters of water resistance, reinforcing its sporty character.

Inside beats the Sellita SW500 automatic chronograph calibre, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) with 25 jewels. Based on the proven Valjoux 7750 architecture, the movement provides hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and chronograph functions, along with a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.

The watch is fitted with a black rubber strap secured by a stainless steel deployant clasp, delivering both comfort and durability for everyday wear.
